Share and Care
Community relief donations in Imperial County, California are critically important due to the region’s high poverty rates, extreme climate conditions, and limited access to essential resources.
- Economic hardship: Imperial County consistently ranks among the counties with the highest unemployment and poverty rates in California. Many families, seniors, and farmworkers struggle to afford basic necessities, making donated food and clothing vital for day-to-day survival.
- Extreme weather: The county experiences intense heat in summer and occasional cold snaps in winter, which makes access to proper clothing—such as breathable fabrics for heat and warm layers for cool nights—essential for health and comfort.
- Food insecurity: Despite being an agricultural hub, many residents face food insecurity due to low wages, high food costs, and limited grocery access in rural areas. Food drives help bridge that gap, ensuring families, children, and the elderly have nutritious meals.
CCV’s “Share and Care” campaign strengthens social support networks and promotes solidarity and dignity among residents, particularly during emergencies, seasonal hardships, or economic downturns.

Salud Sin Fronteras
The original purpose of Salud Sin Fronteras was to respond to the global pandemic and directly address the lack of support and services for the immigrant population in border communities of the Imperial Valley. Post-pandemic, CCV has continued to provide charitable aid to support the Imperial Valley’s most vulnerable populations—low-income families, seniors, homeless, farmworkers, and children.
Salud Sin Fronteras is focused on food distribution, clothing drives, and general basic needs for the Imperial Valley’s most vulnerable residents. The overall goal is to mobilize community resources and generosity, reduce poverty-related hardships, and strengthen the social fabric of the Imperial Valley by emphasizing care, collaboration, and lasting impact.
