These terms apply to ccvhealth.org, operated by Comité Cívico del Valle, Inc. ("CCV"), a nonprofit organization in Brawley, California. By using this site or subscribing to our communications, you agree to them.
What this site is for
We publish information about environmental health and justice in the Imperial Valley: air and water quality, community programs, reports and events. The content is for general information. It is not medical, legal or professional advice. If you have a health concern, talk to a qualified professional.
Email messaging
- Program: CCV Health newsletter.
- How you join: by filling in the signup form and clicking the confirmation link we email you. We never add anyone without that confirmation.
- Frequency: varies with our activity — typically a few messages per month, plus occasional announcements.
- How you leave: the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
SMS messaging
Program: CCV Health verification messages.
How you join: giving a mobile number on our signup form is optional. We only text you if you tick the separate consent box that reads "I agree to receive SMS messages at this number". We never enter a number on someone's behalf.
What we send: one-time verification codes only. No marketing or promotional text messages.
Frequency: one message per verification request, and never more than five messages per day.
How you leave: reply STOP to any message and we will stop immediately. Reply HELP for assistance.
Costs: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan. CCV does not charge for these messages.
Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Using the site
You agree not to:
- submit false information or someone else's contact details without their permission;
- attempt to gain access to areas of the site that are not public;
- use automated tools to submit our forms;
- interfere with the normal operation of the site.
Content and trademarks
The text, images, reports and design on this site belong to CCV or to those who licensed them to us. You may share and quote our material for non-commercial, educational or advocacy purposes with attribution. Any other use needs our written permission.
Links to other sites
We link to partners, funders and public resources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, CCV is not liable for losses arising from the use of this site.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the last change, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
